I regularly hear it from expats that the training of Hungarian doctors is perfect, it is just the facilities that would need a thorough renovation. This is just partial truth.

Today I would like to mention a problem, which may not be obvious to everybody: in our country (and in the countries mostly East of us,) medical conditions effectively treated with antibiotics or other non-surgical methods in the US or many Western European countries are too often managed by surgical interventions.

I am going to give you some examples of this situation from the field of otorhinolaryngology, i.e. ear, nose, throat.
